The Leavells community is an unincorporated area located just several miles to the south of Fredericksburg in suburban Spotsylvania County, VA. For most of the community’s existence it has been a sleepy rural area home to vast stretches of farmland. However, due the city’s close proximity to Interstate 95 it has begun to see unprecedented growth over the past decade. Leavells has been transformed into a vibrant suburban area that celebrates its agrarian pastime.

These battles played a key role in the Civil War. Leavells is also within 10 miles of downtown Fredericksburg’s historic district and the University of Mary Washington. Leavells is located near the homes of George Washington’s mother Mary Washington, as well as, one of George Washington’s homes.
