Morning Fun: Parades & Patriotic Family Events

9:00 AM – Roll ‘N’ Stroll Parade
Start your day at the Children’s Roll ‘N’ Stroll Parade, launching from VRE Lot B at Caroline and Frederick Streets. Kids can decorate bikes, wagons, and strollers for a chance to win fun prizes!

10:00 AM–4:00 PM – Fabulous Fourth at Ferry Farm
Celebrate at George Washington’s boyhood home with crafts, colonial demonstrations, food trucks, and games. Admission is just $1 for guests 3 and up—making this one of the most affordable and enriching July 4th events in Fredericksburg.

History Comes Alive Downtown

11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, 3:00 PM – Readings of the Declaration of Independence
Take a step back in time at the Hugh Mercer Apothecary Shop with live historical readings.

11:30 AM & 1:30 PM – Colonial Storytime at Rising Sun Tavern

Food, Music & Community at Riverfront Park

12:00 PM–4:00 PM – Fourth in Fredericksburg Festival
Head to Riverfront Park (701 Sophia St) for vendors, arts and crafts, food trucks, and family-friendly activities. Mayor Mary Katherine Greenlaw will welcome guests around noon!

6:30 PM–8:30 PM – Sounds of Summer Concert
Don’t miss Ladia performing live in Market Square. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the vibe!

Fireworks in Fredericksburg: Where to Watch

9:00 PM – Virginia Credit Union Stadium Fireworks
This central display is visible up to 2 miles away—perfect for those planning to watch from their car. Arrive early to snag a good spot on Carl D. Silver Parkway or Gordon W. Shelton Blvd. Parking is angled or parallel depending on the street.

9:15 PM – Fireworks Over the Rappahannock (Pratt Park/Old Mill Park)
One of the most scenic views in Fredericksburg! Old Mill Park will fill quickly—gates open at 7:00 AM. Entry is free for City of Fredericksburg residents (bring ID), or $15 per vehicle / $10 per person for non-residents.

⚠️ Reminder: Personal fireworks are not allowed in city parks this year due to fire risks.

Bonus: Free Trolley Service from 10:00 AM–4:30 PM

Hop aboard a trolley connecting popular sites like Ferry Farm, the Eagles Lodge, the Patawomeck Museum, and the Visitor Center.
